Breakfast at Kinkan Academy

Yay! I'm contributing to my OTP :3

I watched Breakfast at Tiffany's some months ago and I was charmed by the lovely Audrey Hepburn and the character she protrayed, Miss Holly Golightly.
It's a love story between a writer and a flighty socialite.

While I know Duck/Ahiru isn't a flightly socialite, Fakir is a writer, haha.
And I wanted to try capturing the DVD cover scene but with the movie poster painting style.

...of which I failed and instead came up with something likened to Impressionism, haha.

For criticism:
To digital painters out there, how's my style? :( I, uhh, only used one kind of brush (that square one with a tilt, one of the wet media presets on Photoshop CS series).
I did this entirely without reference to materials and crap so I'm pretty sure I've gotten some stuff wrong trying to figure out how to make textures happen, haha.
And, yeah, I think the lighting is confused, like so much T_T

This was my only reference: DVD cover scene, Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961)

...
On second thought, regardless if anyone gives me constructive criticism or not, I'm not entirely satisfied with my choice of background so I may redo that. But for now, I think it's a fine attempt at... something, haha!

I'm pretty sure that I'm going to redo the piece from the ground up anyway. The items I chose for the foreground were admittedly haphazardly selected references to the series T___T And the placement is hardly an example of a decent composition.

Background only.

I love the trees and the fund, and the expression of the girl is wonderful, but not really understand the direction of the head of the boy. Serious wonderful that he practiced a little more area, but it is a very good work!
