Favourites

Since my Favourites can only show stuff chronologically, feel free to figure out what goes on in my head.

I admit there are pretty cool deviants out there. :w00t:

I tend to favorite on impulse, so looking at the stuff in the favorites folder is a big clue as to how my head was working that time.

Just a break...I promise :D

Alrighty.

It's the night of the first day of the semestral exams (wow, I feel like I'm in college already )

Long story about why it came to be called that at my school. And the good thing is that it's only going to be for this "fail" of a senior year. Don't get me wrong. It's pretty fail but interesting since there have been so much stuff going on during our batch's stay at PSHS.

Alrighty then.

So I wanted to take a break from the studying for a while

(Conscience: "Would you READ that line? She is just so full of herself lately...")

^_^''' uhm, right.

After that interruption from my conscience, I'll be glad to get on with what this post is about.

A friend of mine, also a deviantart member but for her sake I shan't post a link to her account as it is destined to only be found if you really want to, made a post listing her OTP and other fandoms she follows. I was pretty proud when I younger, claiming to ties to any fandom but that was not meant to be for very long. :D

Now, I'm quite embarrassed that my fandoms are much fewer than most people (when I say fandom, I meant to cover everything: books, TV shows, movies, anime/manga, cartoons, comics, etc.). I get over it every once in a while but I guess when I only have time, I'll look out for more.

But I digress-

(Conscience: "Yeah the heck you sure are. Get on with it already so you can study!!!")

*sigh*

Just to say, having a comparably smaller number of fandoms to follow doesn't make you ignorant (heck, you actually know about them) or any less of a fan. As long as you follow them and stay true to the fandom, you're a fan (at least, in my psyche you are). Don't be too insecure about not knowing the history, personalities, and other details. That just means there are other people more devoted or more "hardcore" at being a fan than most. It's nothing to feel bad about, though. If you have time, you have time. You can be a passive or active fan. It's whatever you want.

**PS: I think that having less fandoms to follow would mean that you can be more devoted or thoroughly advocate them more since you only spend your time on a few you know and love well instead of many different ones to keep track of ( at least, in my view that is).
But it's not bad to expand your horizons either.

I guess I would suggest this to passive fans. Active fans, you already know how to handle your fandoms. Just don't burn out because of them, alright?

Teh List:
1. Luna Lovegood and Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter - fanon (It's NOT crack). It's possible and pretty cute if you think about it (and once you get past the fact that their actors have nearly the same features, which is the primary reason for my following the fandom to begin with; see "During my 10 month Irregularity... (2), Aug. 7 08 post), but Rowling didn't make it so. I was formerly Draco and Hermione but I got tired of it. Too much Draco OOC and the thing sorta flared up because the actors were formerly dating in the early movies. But a similar negative quirk about this one is that you'd always be using Book 6 and Book 7 to back up your storyline.
... Okay, maybe not always but what I find fun is that you can use Luna very naturally with Draco when you write (and I'd recommend some of these fics too; I'm planning to make a comic about one I've read some months ago).

2. Kira and Jonas, The Giver Trilogy (I picked up the pairing at the 3rd book, Messenger) - leans heavily to canon but I think many would categorize it fanon, just to be safe (but it should be canon! :D). Too bad Lowry never specified anything. Matty was the main attraction in Messenger.

3. Sano Seiichiro and Rinko Jerrard, Law of Ueki - borderline canon. The anime and manga built up their teamwork and friendship but I think there was more to be said than actually shown. In the manga, Rinko continued to like Robert until he called her "insect" by accident and that ended her romances. In the anime (english dub and I think the subbed version) provided an inkling about her next crush.

The words of Mori Ai:"She said she had a strange feeling about Sano" (or something along the lines of that).
**I think Rinko was raised in a more western-influenced culture or one of her parents are from a place other than Japan since her first name and last name are in the same order in the Japanese and English version>> firstname lastname
Then again, I could be wrong.

4. Shinomori Aoshi and Makimachi Misao, Samurai X - I duly apologize for not knowing their last names. :D In both the anime and manga, they share a familial bond. I guess the creator meant for it to be like uncle-niece or big brother-little sister sort, but I don't :D Borderline canon/fanon to be safe since it's not as explicit as Kaoru and Kenshin.

5. Teo and Toph, Avatar: The Last Airbender/The Legend of Aang - Fanon for sure (and my passion for it is kind of wavering; it's just not as strong as it was at first). The two hardly say a word to each other in the series but the possible chemistry is cute (if you think about it real hard, :iconfayedove: helped me discover it because of her story, which since I liked so much I made a comic of it; see the scrap gallery [note: not the same friend I mentioned earlier]). I was formerly a Toph and Zuko but the fandom took to a standstill because of Mai and because people have a difficulty imagining them in a much older setting, saying pedophilia and what not (I think it discouraged me like many others too, Mai and the pedophilia-thing I mean). They would've made a fine pair of friends though, probably even the best of friends.

6. Gary Oak and Misty, Pokemon Anime series - Hmm. Fanon. You really see that there is not much backing to this other than they, for some reason, are better than Ash and Misty. I'll bet that Misty does like Ash except that Ash is a little too much a dense dork to notice or realize that he likes Misty too. Perfect for an "affair" sort of story about the three of them. But as long as the Pokemon franchise keeps on making games and the popularity keeps stable, it's ambigious to say MxA or MxG.
Misty is quite the popular female traveling buddy. In fact, she seems more popular than May or the Platinum girl that she was the only one to make a reappearance in a later season after her role in the earlier seasons was decidedly finished. Food for thought. :D Go Misty! We love you, girl!

7. Tachikawa Mimi and Koudo Joe, Digimon Adventure 01 - Not that I don't like DA02, but their character designs were... yeah. Besides, DA02 focused more on the chemistry of Taichi, Sora and Yamato, and the new kids. The first season provided the backing for this. Their personalities are quite polar but that made them cute together. Fanon. I don't follow this much tho, but I'm sure I'll probably advertise them more.

8. Nonaka Rika and Akiyama Ryo, Digimon Tamers or Digimon Season 3 - I find this fanon cute, not just because their names start with the same letter or because their digimon partners were kick-ass cool, but because they really are cute together. The character designs and the personalities fit quite well. I'm only saddened because there wasn't much character build on Ryo's part. The second placer to this is Rika and Wong Henry, the Chinese-Japanese main character who has so many siblings. They're cute too, and their chemistry is more defined despite the fanon-ness.
It's kind of annoying though that their plot device was a Jeri, the love interest of Takato.

9. Betty Cooper and Reggie Mantle, Archie Comics and all the other titles involved with the teenagers and the town of Riverdale - Fanon for sure but the chemistry is undeniable that it was canon once. Just read back to all those comics you've read, wishing Archie and Betty get together instead of Veronica and Archie. Just look. If you haven't noticed before, whenever the plot calls for Archie and Reggie try to get the two girls' attention, Betty winds up paired with Reggie in some reconciled ending scene (see "Dune Buggy", Betty and Veronica Double Digest #47). Alright, I'll admit that in those comics, Betty and Veronica are pretty much act like sisters and the very best of friends (which they really are) and forget their rivalry for Archie.
Some blogs and posts say that Reggie and Betty are going to end up together since the chemistry of opposites can't deny it: a scheming, secretly insecure egomaniac and a sweet, near-perfect, stable girl. Their history is cute too. They're been friends since the 1st grade or so I've read. The fell in love once in the past issues (the rather old issues, I'll bet; I can't find the summary anywhere in the net; just a self-made summary by an avid fan of the pairing in the archiecomics.com forums), he's a good friend to Betty even after they broke up, giving her advice and helping her with her problems sometimes, and he usually offers himself when Archie recently breaks their afore-planned date (I guess when he catches wind of it; I haven't found this yet but I believe it enough; it's just like the Archie comics artists and the script-writers :D).

There's also something funny about them: They both changed their hairstyles over the years and issues. Betty was described as "scheming" in the 50's-60's comics as Reggie continues to be (Betty was toned down into the lovable girl-next-door we know today; but we still like her a little more than Veronica in the past and the present, no offense :D).
As for Archie, if you take the comics seriously, he deserved to be with no one or someone else entirely since Veronica and Betty clearly deserve someone better. But this comic is meant to be light-hearted and "slice of life"-ish in a comedic way so better not think too much of it. After all, they are in limbo in high school (if the artists plan to continue the comics even after their eye-popping "Archie Proposes to Veronica/The Proposal" plot; everyone's excited, bitter anxious, etc.; this type of thing really defines big :D).

10. Reno and Kisaragi Yuffie, Final Fantasy: Advent Children - Well, fanon, but their character designs are so cute together :D. They barely say anything to each other in both the game and the movie but still, the fandom remains. I feel no need to share the love about these two as there is plenty (and I'm passive about them).

11. Selphie Tilmitt and Zell Dincht, Final Fantasy VIII - I don't know if that's with two L's or just one. Anyway, they're cute together. Much better than Rinoa-what's-her-face and Squall's relationship anyway (obvious that I really hate her character, no?). A second to this is Selphie and Seifer. Both fanon, I'll say.

12. Saber and Gilgamesh, Fate/Stay Night, the anime or Saber's plot in the visual novel - *sigh* Fanon. It's a one way thing. I just love Gilgamesh, next to Lancer/Cu Chulain (Cu's no.1, Gil's no.2  just so we're clear), that's why I'm for this pairing. Though presently, I haven't been paying much attention to it. I'll give it love soon.

13. Moira and Louie Von Helson, Gaiaonline Manga/Mini-comic/Vanessa at the Salon Durem Dialogue - It's canon if you should believe the text in the speech bubble of Vanessa! :D And I believe that they've dated sometimes: the "Promageddon" plot and the first prom plot. I need to share the love though. I haven't given this a thought in a long while.

14. Fakir and Ahiru, Princess Tutu Anime - It's so canon. *sigh* Not to mention dreamy and adorable. I don't think I've seen anything more meant to be canon than these two. I'll admit while following the series, I was for Mytho and Ahiru being together. After some fanfictions and an interesting turn of events on the plot itself, my loyalties shifted. With so much love for these two already, I feel like I'm not going to make much of an impact. Maybe, someday when I get a neat idea for the two.

15. Ryan Evans and Kelsi Nielsen, High School Musical - The third and final movie really made it happen. The sneak-peek preview made my heart flutter. I was speechless and at the same time I immediately fell for the pairing. The plot did have them end up together ambiguously, since they were given scholarships to the same prestigious performing arts university. I need to share the love for this. Fanon, I believe but leaning heavily toward canon (I know myself and other fans for this pairing really WANT it to be canon, right?). Read more about it here: Kelsi Nielsen: Character Wiki. It pretty much covers most of the things with Kelsi.

16. Clair/e and Pete, Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town and More Friends of Mineral Town Series - Whenever I played the game I always felt that Pete (male character) had to get Elli since she was the closest one to look like the girl in you flashbacks and Clair/e got Cliff because, I just like Cliff's personality best among the eligible bachelors. But then, I went to this website that showed all the character backgrounds and their love interests and so I felt bad for having to "take" any of the pairings apart. I said to myself, why not make an AU cross-over (it's still under construction; presently, I only have the wedding part made out and in comic format, which undoubtedly still needs reworking). Exploring this pairing was my first hand at an Alternate Universes-type fanfiction. Their character designs are cute together anyway and the backgrounds pretty much the same so their chemistry wasn't a problem. If only the games were made to function that way  Fanon, of course, but a lovely fanon it is. It shall be presented with love soon.

That's about it. :ohnoes: (Man, I owe a LOT of love).

(Conscience: "I can't believe you took TWO HOURS! TWO OHMY-HALLELUJAH-WHAT-THE-THREE LETTER WORD-WERE-YOU-THINKING HOURS! What about your studying? I thought this was going to be "just" a break? Not only have you been sleeping since you got home, but you have also been typing this "post" for two hours?" You told me "short post" to shut me up but, blah, blah, blah...")

*sigh* Who has to take a beating from their conscience like this? But it's right. I have to go now and if I knew I was going to take 2 hours for my "break" (if you would still call it that ) and type up a quick post to help me relax, well I wouldn't have.

Well, it's time to hit the books.

(Conscience: "Finally!")

Last note though: I just wanted to make a list for all the stuff you can expect me to upload in the coming days months...yeah, err... some time from now.
